TRAINING STANDARDS IN THE RESERVE
SICILWIND SAFETY AND QUALITY
IKO / FIV Certified Instructors
All our partner centers apply the official programs of the International Kiteboarding Organization and the Italian Sailing Federation. Your learning progression is safe and recognized worldwide.
Real-Time Radio Assistance
During water lessons you will wear a helmet with integrated radio. Your instructor guides you and corrects your mistakes in real time, doubling learning speed.
Continuous Rescue Boat Support
Even though the Stagnone lagoon has very shallow waters where you can stand almost everywhere, a coordinated rescue boat service is always active and ready to intervene to ensure full safety during every course phase.
Top-Tier 2026 Equipment
You ride only with current-year kites and boards from top global brands like Duotone, North, and Cabrinha. All equipment is checked, washed, and serviced every week.
THE GEOGRAPHY OF THE LAGOON
A PARADISE WHERE THE WATER IS ALWAYS SHALLOW
The Stagnone is a protected lagoon with a uniform seabed: the water remains flat even when the wind rises, offering predictable and safe conditions for technical progression.
Across most of the spot, the depth ranges from 30 to 50 cm, enabling easy starts, quick recoveries, and long sessions without stress, with steady control in every learning phase.
- Depth between 30 and 50 cm: you can stand in most areas.
- Flat water: faster board and kite control.
- Less downtime: restart quickly after each attempt.
- Faster progression for beginner and intermediate riders.

LIVE WEATHER & CONDITIONS
THE SECRET OF THERMAL WIND
Standard weather models (such as Windguru or Windy) often underestimate Stagnone wind. During warm months, lagoon overheating creates a local thermal wind that adds a steady 4 to 6 knots on top of forecasts. If weather sites show 10 knots, you often ride Stagnone with 15 knots.
